High-adoption market with 21M+ registered crypto users (Feb 2026). OJK took over regulation from Bappebti in Jan 2025 under the P2SK Law and treats crypto as a digital financial asset; it is legal to trade but banned as a means of payment. As of Apr 2026 OJK had licensed 31 crypto entities (two exchanges, two clearing houses, two custodians and 25 traders). In 2026 OJK added certification and marketing rules for crypto influencers, and Komdigi blocked Polymarket as online gambling.
